St. Vincent, the performance moniker of singer/songwriter and guitarist Annie Clark, will release her fourth studio album on February 25 via Republic Records according to her new label’s 2014 release schedule. The upcoming project, the followup to her 2011 album Strange Mercy, is currently listed as self-titled though that may change with an official release announcement from Clark and Republic. Check out a snippet of some new music in the youtube video announcing her European tour below. Lead track from the new album will be Birth In Reverse.
That’s an entire two weeks after my birthday but I’ll let it slide this time, Annie.
im excited for amazon to start sending packages out by drone because now i can start carrying a sling shot around with me and knock them out of the air and get a present and it will be just like animal crossing
Letting your parents listen to your favorite music is so much like bringing a boyfriend home for approval but marginally more important
Honest to god I hope Annie and Janelle always stay at their current level of popularity and never fall victim to that same situation that other small/indie artists like fun./Gotye/Lorde/etc. have where they suddenly blow up after one or two songs get really huge and people who know absolutely nothing about them either “like” them solely for that one song or incessantly talk shit on them because they just can’t stand anything that gets too popular. I know this whole post is totally stupid and is falling right into the whole dumb hipster trope of bitching about liking artists before they were popular but these two are my babies and two of my favorite artists ever and I just couldn’t bear to watch that happen to them.
annie clark sat on a pastel fucking throne, releasing a song literally titled ‘birth in reverse’ she’s gonna draw blood wow i cant wait.
I hope this new album also sets a “fuck count” record.
u don’t wanna date me… *chuckles* *slides $20 across the table* how about now
